Coming From Mary

Hey Guys,

I am not only in love with Brian but I am now in love with Japan. I can see why he has such an interest in Japan and has come back for the third time. The country is beautiful, efficient, and all the people are extremely nice. While walking through the streets I have only come across a few pieces of trash since I have been here, the subway tracks are cleaner then our streets at home, and there is recycling everywhere. Plus every time you come into contact with a Japanese person they are bowing and saying "Arigato" which means thanks you, even though I am not so sure why they are constantly thanking me but I have come to learn it is a sign of kindness and respect.

While being here the weather has been odd with clouds, rain, wind, and snow but that hasn't stopped Brian and I from adventuring off. We have visited shrines, Canal City, awesome restaurants, and we even went to go see Vincent van Gogh's exhibit at Dazaifu. Dazaifu is a beautiful city with ponds, trees, koi fish, and another shrine. It is crowed with tons of people and is a more tourist spot to shop in the market street but was still a wonderful day trip. The food here is "Oishii" which I have learned to say quiet frequently and means "delicious". So far my favorite restaurants are Shiv Shankar, a curry place with excellent cheese naan, and Ichiran, a slurp-tastic ramen restaurant. I am sure Brian will take his parents to both places when they arrive in Japan. Although adventures are fun my favorite part of being in Japan is just being with Brian and in his arms. I couldn't have asked for a better trip.

Take Care,
Mary

  1. Mary- I'm so glad you are having a great time. We are looking forward to the trip. You've been there for two weeks now! When is your last day there? I bet your journey home will be easier than the trip there. We had more snow last night- not much here.
FYI-I heard Philadelphia airport canceled all their flights today.
